Procedure to Request Assistance for Furniture

Please review the guidelines below prior to submitting your request for assistance. Furniture requests are reviewed weekly. We will call you once your referral has been reviewed. Incomplete referrals must be resubmitted.


1.    You must have reliable transportation to pick up furniture. If you do not have reliable transportation do not submit your request at this time. We do not reschedule furniture pickups for any reason. There are over 50 people requesting our assistance on any day. If you miss your appointment the furniture designated to you will be given to another applicant.

2.    You must have an appointment to pick up furniture.

3.    Furniture must be picked up on the date and time scheduled in an open bed pickup truck.

4.    You must bring tie downs with you to tie your furniture down yourself.

5.    You must bring your picture ID showing you currently live in Anne Arundel County.

6.    You must be present to receive your furniture.

7.    Your Case Worker must fax your referral for assistance to 410-923-4256. This referral must include.
A.    Your Name
B.    Current Address
C.    Referrals must be on agency letter head or a standardized form we already accept.
D.    Contact Information for you and your Case Worker
E.    How many people are in your family? (age and gender)
F.    A detailed list of items needed (living room and bed room furniture is not detailed. Be specific how many beds, what size king, queen, and twin? sofa or love seat? etc.)
8.    You must bring your referral from your case worker with you when you pick up your furniture.

9.    You only receive furniture you are approved for. We will let you know what you have been approved for when we call.

10.    We do not keep ongoing referrals if we are unable to assist you at the time of your request you will be contacted. In three weeks you may have your Case Worker resubmit your referral. You must follow these guide lines and resubmit your email for request to be reconsidered.
